Delivery / Shippment

Packing

Packing your item properly is very important. For best results, carefully pick up all the pieces and individually wrap them in tissue paper or paper towels and then bubble wrap. Do not secure wrapping with tape. Do not use newspaper or colored paper because the print or dye may stain. Make sure that the broken shards are not touching each other. Resist the temptation to try to fit the pieces together or to glue them yourself. Mistakes made with modern adhesives that are strong enough to form an effective bond are hard to undo. Results of trying to repair an item yourself can often be disappointing and lead to further damage that can make professional repair more difficult and costly.
Choose a sturdy box that will allow at least three inches of packing material between the item and the box edge. For extra protection, double boxing is advisable. The larger box should also allow for 2-3” of packing material all around.

Delivery to Flatsker Fine Art Restoration Studio

Clients in the California region are welcome to deliver items to our studio in person. To arrange a suitable drop-off time, and to ask any questions before your visit, please be sure to call or email in advance. See our contact page for further information.

Mail Shipments

Mailed shipments should include your name, address, and telephone number and/or email address. Repaired items that are not picked up in person will be returned via UPS, FedEx, or USPS. If you have a particular preference and/or an account with any of these providers, please include this information with your shipment.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that you insure your piece for full replacement value while it is out of your possession. Flatsker Fine Art Restoration assumes no responsibility for breakage or loss of items submitted for repair.
Unless otherwise instructed, the cost of insuring all return mail shipments will be factored into our shipping and handling fee.
